Anyone ever use either of these wood bats? Supposedly, Baum bats are basically filled with some sort of foam-like substance (supposed to be very durable and balanced).
The Rock bats have a hollowed-out barrel (filled with basswood) and a thicker handle (also supposed to be very balanced...heavier handle/lighter barrel=balanced bat). Sounds almost like the bats are corked. I've spoken with Roland Hernandez (the owner of Rockbats)...I like the concept and the bats are BBCOR certified.

Both are a little pricey...Baum bats are $170, Rock bats are approx $150.

Just curious if anyone has used either (or preferrably) bats?

I have several players using Rock Bats. They are no where near $150. Rock Bats you can go to their website and order a bat for under $95. Every one of their bats are a true pro grade bat. Performance and durability has been very good. Baum bats are probably the best composite bats out there. Rock Bats are going to be hard to beat in regards to a true wood bat. Plus you can get a 20% off coupon.

My son swung a Baum and preferred his custom made Escamilla all wood bat... no sting, great pop choice of colors and engraving and a hundred bucks cheaper too.

Baum Bats are worth the money! We have had great results with our team using them.

I've heard very good things about Baum Bats. Too pricey for my tastes. If my boys had all stopped growing and weren't still outgrowing bats, might be worth investing in.

I'm also a big fan of letting them swing the bats to find the keeper. With these 'mail order only' bats, there's no chance to find the size grip, balance, taper, etc., that they'd like. Another reason I'm reluctant to plunk down 150-200 on one.
