Tryouts for the Mid Atlantic Team are being held July 18th in Winder, GA. This is a one day tryout beginning at 8:30am. If selected for the Mid Atlantic team, your son would be invited to attend the NTIS Tournament in Cary, NC in September. Must be born between January 1 and December 31 of 1998 to be age eligible.

Papa spoke with the NTIS officials and understand that the kids had a great day of baseball down in Winder, Georgia yesterday and from what I have heard everthing was run very well and things went smooth except for some problems with lightning. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I encourage you all you provide your child the chance to participate. There will be 2 more opportunities to earn a spot on the Mid-Atlantic regional team that will be showcased in Cary, N.C. sometime in September and once the team is chosen they will compete against other regional teams from all across the nation. The next clinic will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday July 25th and then another clinic will be held in Nashville, TN. on July 28th with both clinics beginning at 8 AM. If at all possible you should all try and make this happen as these type opportunities are few and far between.

Papa knows that many were disappointed in the way things happened last year with the Mid-Atlantic team and I wanted to share some information that I have received that might change your mind about this clinic. The clinic will be ran and the team chosen will be managed by none other than Shannon Ivey. Most of us are familiar with Shannon and I feel that him being named to manage this team is a great decision by USA Baseball. Shannon is beginning to choose his Coaching Staff and I think that this a tremendous opportunity for these kids to represent our great nation and show the world that baseball in the USA is the best in the world.

The time for registration is nearing an end and I didn't want any of you to miss what I consider a great opportunity for our kids to showcase their skills to the rest of the nation. The clinic and try-outs are being held at the Winder-Barrow high school basebll field this Wednesday July 18, 2012.
