My Son wore this mask last weekend and took a ball to the face. All-Star has issued this warning and wanted to get the message to all baseball families as soon as possible.

All-Star® brand catcher’s helmet alert, model MVP2500

ALERT: Please check the eye opening of your hockey style catcher’s helmet. This affects All-Star® brand helmets with the model number MVP2500. The model number is printed on the back plate. When measured, the vertical distance of the eye opening should measure two (2) inches as shown. Measurements within 1/8 of an inch (more or less) are acceptable.
If you find a helmet with an eye opening near two and a half (2.5) inches, do not use this helmet and please contact All-Star® immediately for a replacement.
These measurements apply only to the MVP2500 models manufactured by All-Star® and in particular MVP2500 models purchased after July 1, 2011.

One helmet has been found in the public with a wider eye opening. The metal cage is an internal prototype for a softball-only design, not intended for production, and in no way suitable for baseball. If you have such a helmet and play softball, the helmet must be returned to All-Star® for replacement because at this time no standards exist for softball-only catcher’s helmets.

We greatly appreciate your help in checking your own and your teammates’ helmets or any All-Star® MVP2500 model you come across. We apologize for any inconvenience. Player safety is our first priority.

All-Star® can be reached by:
Phone: 800.777.3810 or 978.425.6266
e-mail: MVP2500@all-starsports.com
