This Easton video should help everyone decipher the Power Brigade....my son hit with the S1 at Better Baseball and loved it, we'll put that under the tree for christmas.

I heard the Baden Axe BBCOR bats used by some colleges are really super hot compared to other brands of the BBCOR bats. One team in a double headder hit 10 the opposing team hit 1 with a bunch of fly outs.

Guys,

I am hosting a bat testing on Dec 2nd at Georgia Sports Center. We will have different sizes and types of Easton Bats. I am trying to get Combat and Baden also. The event is free.

Bballguy, the S3 is all alloy, like the Rival. S2 is the Surge (composite and alloy) and the S1 is the new Omen (all composite).
dad4kids Posted - 11/22/2011 : 09:24:44
There are three different versions of the Brigade. One all aluminum (like the Rival), one all composite (like the Omen), and one composite and aluminum (like the Surge).

Basically, they took all three of their 2011 bats and put them under one name with the differences designated by S1, S2, S3.
prestont Posted - 11/21/2011 : 16:21:10
The S3 is, its a 2 3/4 barrel -10 bat.

Diff between the S2 & S3 is the S2 = 2 5/8 barrell.

Hope this helps!

bigmcbb - knew it wouldn't take long for someone to post a reply to my talkative comment (ha ha).

If anyone has an Easton credit - they posted the Senior League Power Brigade Bats on their website. Got my sons ordered over the weekend.

Also - hope ALL have a joyous (& safe) Turkey day!

Bummer part for me was the guy who posted about getting a credit got $75 more than I did from Easton!

Honestly though - Easton has been very accomodating when I've reached out and spoke to them on the phone, and they have even offered to send a bigger size bat (same model) if my son needed.

"Talkative"? Preston, that may be the understatement of the year. We call you "The Mayor" for a reason.

Seriously though, I've had the same experience with Easton as you described. It seems to make a difference if you call in and speak with a rep.

PrestonT - How do you get Easton to give you "options" during your warranty process?

I've exercised 2 Easton warranties over the years and it results in them sending me what ever bat they like.

In other words, once I fill out the online info and ship the bat to them, the next communication with them is a new bat in the mail stamped, "No Warranty" or "Not For Resale".

What's your secret

bballguy - Power Brigade is being called the S3. The model number for the 2 3/4 bat is SL11S310B.

Tough to answer on common bats because it really depends on your son. Mine is 12. Last year Easton offered to send a Surge instead of Rival during a warranty replacement but my son really didn't like the feel during his swing because it is more end-weighted vs balanced with the S3/Rival.

One thing to keep in mind is that Easton will replace 2 bats w/in a year via warranty. If you can get a 'legal' replacement bat as warranty, it'll atleast give ya more time before you have to buy a new bat.

Thanks for the info. Our Rival was a replacement for the Composite bat that was so hot, but it is already dented pretty bad. So we were looking for something else. He also has the Worth Prodigy, whihc is a great bat, just not as much pop.

Not yet, but according to an Easton Engineer on a bat forums website its pretty much the Rival bat with a new name. For some reason Easton decided to change the name - even though Rival is well known out in the baseball community.

I plan to get one of the new Power Brigade's for my son when they become available on the Easton website via the credit they gave to me from last years Rival warranty replacement.
