Posted - 10/28/2011 : 15:11:04 I was wondering if most 16u players in this area know about each others capabilities, no matter what team the players move to? Or, are there so many teams and players out there that it is just too hard for players to keep track of each other?

Posted - 10/29/2011 : 02:54:28 yes indeed they know each other
i can not speak for teams or exact players as my years coaching that age have long passed by
i can speak enough from then to say that often the players at 16 and 17 know better who belongs on the field than does the coach .
coaches view may be altered by relationships with parents or previous years coaching players and still go on that for playing decisions
16 year olds are much less likely to be biased |

Posted - 10/29/2011 : 00:03:15 Baseball is like a fraternity. By 16u, a lot of players know each other. I don't think the pool is so small, however, that most players know each other. It is just interesting to see how many know each other across multiple teams. |
