Posted - 08/20/2011 : 08:24:27 I don't believe they're discontinuing the -3 Easton Omen. The 2012 BBCOR model is available for $399. You're probably seeing the BESR version being sold at clearance prices in the 200-250 range. If you buy one of those, you can't use it for high school, so be cautious.

All the research I have done points to the Rawlings 5150 as a very balanced BBCOR bat. Picked one up today for my 15U to swing and see how it compares to his non-BBCOR 5150 -3/-5 and his MPowered wood bats which are very balanced.
I've heard the Easton Power Brigade is supposed to be a comparable bat (copy?) to the 5150. Should be out anytime according to Better Baseball guy today.

had one parent at a showcase tell me that Clemson used the Easton XL. Said they were the only team in the country to have. Said the bat was hot. Person i spoke to at Better Baseball hadnt heard of it. Did find a different website that carried it. But havent seen it in action. Anyone?
This is due out anytime, Dick's flyer I got this week had an XL2 listed @ $299.99. There's some discussion on it in a few baseball bat forums. |

Posted - 08/19/2011 : 10:12:01 Still trying to figure out which BBCOR bat is the most balanced?
5150 is all I have heard.
Any options on the Vodoo bats?
My son tried swinging an Easton Surge, but didn't like it.

Posted - 08/18/2011 : 15:00:34 gghubart, I can assure you that BBCOR bats out perform wood on every level, so that does not seem like very good advice you are giving. |

Posted - 08/18/2011 : 13:27:36 At this point, these kids might as well use wood. Check out MadDog bats on Facebook...they have some good stuff and a lot of giveaways. Tell them I sent ya and give them this number 211407421968042 |

Posted - 08/16/2011 : 12:47:40 I'm hearing the most balanced is the 5150.
We own a Voodoo and its on the heavy/end loaded side but has some pop. I may go out and get a 5150 today just so my boys are covered. |
