I care that I want to play 70 games against 70 different teams, but because I have an ECB based team, and I am willing to help out when I can by playing Thursday, I get to play the locals Thursday night, again. And yes, I sent e-mail asking to not play the same teams. It was ignored, so I am done with TC. |

Posted - 08/05/2011 : 16:30:32 Here's what I think. All the posts like this asking why TC doesn't have a points and ranking system and all the posts complaining about their pool seeding will change to posts about all the things wrong with the TC point and ranking system and why it should be changed.
What would be nice if there were some type of master ranking system that took into account all the different tournaments played and combine results from TC, USSSA, Nations, etc., etc., and then the organizations could use that when seeding their events. The reality is that all these organizations are businesses and actually competing against one another for your tournament dollar. They differentiate themselves in various ways, venues, awards, Tournament Directors, customer service, umpires, etc., as well as how they work with you to accomodate scheduling requests and how they seed pools. One nice thing about TC that they can do since their hands aren't tied is to use some local knowledge and common sense when distributing teams when they set their pools. Is it always fair and do they always get it right? No, but they don't necessarily punish a team because they haven't played a ton of their events (and therefore racked up "points") by bottom seeding them. I guarantee you that Tony always considered the Bandits the A1 seed when they played in his tournaments, even though they only played in one or two of his events this season. How'd you like to be the one seed in your pool and have the Bandits in there as your four seed. Some reward for racking up your points over the season.
