Posted - 07/26/2011 : 22:46:06 Charging 10 bucks for a forfeited game, really. Bad enough perfect game overcharges, but caba, really. What makes this tournament special.
Several members of our team drove 120 miles from N.C. just to discover that the other team did not have enough players. Talked us into a practice game and had the gull to not refund families of 4 and 5 people their money. Really
Thought Sunday's game was bad when they charged us 10 bucks per person for "2" games, Really.
Say no to ECB CABA...........................................Really |

Posted - 07/29/2011 : 08:06:30 I agree about CABA. And good post Gold Glove seems like baseball is being turned into a rich kid sport like golf and lacrosse. |

Posted - 07/28/2011 : 19:09:52 I haven't gone to any games for the past three days. So, they collected 0 revenue from me, my wife, and my two daughters. No gate fee, no snack or drink revenue. Just four empty seats. Keep up the good work ECB. |

Posted - 07/28/2011 : 18:34:29 I agree $10 is steep and there should be automatic refunds for forfeits. Both PG ($50) and CABA ($40) offered weekly passes, no great savings but better than nothing. Also kids under 14 get in free while at other local tournaments younger siblings get charged $5. In the end, either you pay for admittance at the gate or they charge more for entry fees. It's very obviuos why travel baseball is becoming an a sport for only the upper middle class. $$$$
And MLB and USA Baseball can't figure out why poor families and kids play basketball and football. |

Posted - 07/28/2011 : 09:11:04 He least CABA and PG could do is offer a discounted weekly pass or something similar. Greed has always been there in Travel ball but it's really becoming prominent as of late with the big tournament programs. National tourneys charge more but why? Same fields, almost the same teams so what's changed? Half the time there isn't even a working scoreboard (or you can't use it at HS fields). What gives?
How long before they all follow suit and $10 is the "regular" fee and then it'll be $15-$20 to watch our kids play ball. Geez, you could go watch the minor league ball or even the Braves for less. |

Posted - 07/27/2011 : 22:46:52 You know... I really have to agree with you. At what point do we say enough is enough.
I sat tonight at the 16U CABA WS and noticed 20 specators in the opposing team's stands and realized that they paid $200 collectively to watch the 2 hour game. On top of that they have games scheduled from last Sunday upto this Friday. Thats 6 days or $1200. Or a family of 4 watching their son play for the week would cost $240 in gate fees.
Crazy! |
