I heard that Florida travel is moving to BBCOR in January. What's the word here in Georgia? Will it go below high school age any time soon? |

Posted - 06/23/2011 : 09:49:56 Actually, I don't think I'd advocate a -5 at 12U. For the smaller kids who haven't hit a growth spurt yet, it would be tough to swing.
Maybe a limitation on the composite bats for younger ages, similar to BBCOR or BESR? |

7/8 -10 9/10 -8 11/12 -5 13/above -3
Actually doesn't sound too bad... hmmm...
Not sure many -6 and -4 exist in the world.

Posted - 06/22/2011 : 15:35:04 I'd like to see a progression from drop 10 to drop 3 as the field sizes change. I'd like to see permanently affixed color coded rings just above the grip handle so umps could see that the bat is field size/age appropriate. The rings would have to be difficult to replicate. Maybe a hologram logo like the Upper Deck baseball cards have on them. |

Posted - 06/22/2011 : 14:41:43 I is my understanding that only the -3 bats have the BBCOR rating. Not sure if 9-12U could handle the -3 bats just yet. |
