Posted - 05/07/2011 : 09:19:50 I am hoping to get some help from anyone who can advise. Our team has registered in the global world series in July in Orange Beach. We did this back in march. We have now discovered that we can not make the trip due to financial reasons and have asked to be pulled from the event and money refunded. We were told that if they find another team to replace us, we will get our money back but if not, we won't. I would understand this policy if it had been 2 weeks prior when we pulled out but it is a full 2 months. This is not acceptable to me and I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or can offer any advice. In addition, there are certain qualifications that have to be met other than winning the berth, which we have not met and will not meet. Considering that, how can they refuse to refund the money when all qualifications are not met? Any knowledge on the matter would be greatly appreciated. |

I understand your concern but at the same time as parents we need to understand that these men are running a business and cannot afford to give refunds without replacement funds. Your team has been occupying a spot that another team may have wanted back in March, now that "other" team moved onto another tourney, so they are deserving of that money if a replacement team is not found.
In reality they are being kind by offering a full refund if a replacement team enters, I would imagine there is a "no refund" policy in place that they are bending by making you that offer.

Posted - 05/09/2011 : 10:29:16 I know when I contacted them a while back there was a waiting list for teams wanting to play. Now they have opened a whole new week. If you don't qualify through a qualifying tournament I know they give you back your $, so just don't qualify and they will have to give it back to you, if they won't for any other reason. |

Posted - 05/07/2011 : 20:55:03 Thank you. I am going to give them through the weekend to rectify the situation before contacting anyone else. At least I will know what direction to go in at that time. |
