Has anyone found a -3 bbcor bat with any type of pop to it?????? These things are junk!!!!!!!!!!! |

Bought a new cat5 for middle school season this yr. although it doesnt compare to what they are used to, it has done well. He actually hit one out this week right over the 330 sign. (barely over) point is... he is not a Hr hitter, so the Cat5 must have enough pop ! |

I may be wrong, but I heard that even though these new bats respond similar to wood, the sweet spot is still larger then wood. So, the theory is the ball may not travel as far, but the batter still has a better chance of making solid contact due to the larger sweet spot. Please correct me if I am wrong. |

Just purchased the Marucci BBCOR. The word is it's the best one out there. Still does not hit like a BESR but based on information from Reebok and Better Baseball it's as good as it gets right now. My son used it in the cage. Simply not the same! |

It is a pretty good bat but "very" end loaded. Has anyone tried the new Cat 5?

See the attached link from justbats as this provides a good review. I found an old sporting goods store, the Jonquil of the Pennisula and the owner referred me to this website for why the Rip-It is the bat of choice.

We aren't, he is still rakeing with that 09 voodoo. :) The 2012's are out and I know its time to pony up!!!!! His school purchased a Surge, Voodoo, Rippit, and a Omaha (2011 models) all of these are major duds!

That's the design. If they had any pop to them, they would not meet the new rating. 
I am not 100% convinced that you may not see guys use their better responding wood bats than the BBCOR bats.
Maybe not, but there will probably be a lot more consideration than before. Especially those teams that play a lot of wood bat tournaments in the summer.
I am not sure there will not be revisions to the ratings once a year of steady complaints occur. Only the pitchers like them. |
