We have a couple of guys that our typical Mizuno helmet (sized up to 7 1/2) just don't fit. What other brands has anyone had any luck with?

The Adult Mizuno was way too small for my kid ... we tried the Adult Easton which looks very similar and it fits great. Not sure what we'll do once he grows out of that one.

The Mizuno worked for my younger son.

Yeah , We have the same problem , everybody working the Justin Bieber look these days. Or should I say The Shaggy Look . Either way you cant hit/field a baseball with your hair in your eyes !!! Get a haircut!!!! Maybe you could use the exacto to cut their hair iso the helmet?

Coach D - lol. No DOUBT!!!

I think a coupla decent haircuts..er, uh...shaved heads??? will solve some of the problem and like Dacatur Dad said - an exacto knife might take care of the rest.

I mean we are only talking 1/4 inch right??

rippit,

I would have then try on various other Rawlings before you go for the 100mph version. Likely that you'll find their other helmets will fit just fine compared to the Mizuno's due to the shape. I doubt that you'd have too many, if any at all, who would require the size 8.

I know it is not the best solution, but I have had to remove the padding and thin it out with an ezacto knife when we would end up with team helmets that did not fit. It may not be the safest idea though.

Easton has one that fits at least up to 7-3/4 (I have one I used playing this last summer.)

Hi Rippit , with heads like that you may need to call George Jetson and borrow one of those space globes.LOL!!

Mizuno's are tight and shaped round instead of oval shaped (what typical people's heads are from front to back). The kids up to adult tend to find the Rawlings helmets the most comfortable fit.
