What rules of play does Cooperstown use? Are they banning Composite bats? Starting this year or next? Any other rules teams need to know? Pitching limits? Courtesy runners? Subs?

What's the dealo?

Learn the bracket and know where you stand. Know that you have up to 4 games on Thursday to play under the lights, so if you are ranked 1-14 you have an 8PM game Wednesday. If you are ranked 15-32 you have a 5:30 and if you win the 8 on Wednesday. Work the pool games so you get to 32 or better... based on a quick glance at 2010, 4-2 and giving up an average of 6 runs a game gets you in the top 32.

If you are only bringing your regular team of around 11 kids, Pitching will be a challenge. I know our team had kids throw way more then they should have. Most of the teams that make it to the end have extra players. I am glad we only brought our core team, but it did hurt us. (We made the sweet 16 at 10U, but by then had nothing left. One fresh pitcher on the roster would have made a lot of difference. Also, don't count on one catcher.)

Most importantly, there are NO PITCHING LIMITATIONS. Parents, please keep an close eye on your son's pitch count. It's easy for the coach to lose sight of how much each of them has pitched. It's a very exciting atmosphere.

You have to bat 9 but can have one or two EH's, only in the 10th and 11th spots in the lineup.

Courtesy runners are allowed for the catcher and pitcher but only by players not in the lineup (substitutes)
I don't think they have banned any bats yet but I believe their baseballs are a little softer than normal.

Link to CDP site - Coach's Corner includes rules for tournaments, skills competition, and the park itself.

DH & EH must hit at the bottom of the order and cannot enter the game on the field.

2010 rules:
http://cooperstowndreamspark.com/coach.htm#rules

Please note the weird EH rule:
Extra Hitter (EH) - (coach's discretion: 0, 1 or 2) - If using an extra hitter(s), you may use one or two players. The extra hitter(s) MUST hit in the TENTH and ELEVENTH POSITION and CANNOT enter the game defensively to play a position. Only one (1) player may occupy each EH position per game. You may remove your EH(s) for the duration of the game at any time, without penalty. You must notify the plate umpire prior to removal. Extra Hitters must be announced prior to the start of the game; no mid-game entry is permitted.

No pitching rules (kill that arm coach, it's only your son, and no I am not kidding).
CR and Subs are basic USSSA/AAU/Everyone else.
