Posted - 02/09/2011 : 10:07:08 There have been several discussions about scoring applications lately.
Gamechanger has set up "Spring Training Demo's" for anyone interested in reviewing the application to see how it works.
The link is:

If you are interested in seeing the setup of a local team, or interested in registering for a free login, you can follow the link, below.

The Gamechanger scoreboard banner has been incorporated to the team's website, as well.

There is also the capability to interact with Twitter and Facebook for game updates.
If you have been considering this app, take a look at the links above, to get a better idea of the functions. |

Posted - 04/05/2011 : 12:41:16 Alter-Ego....that is exactly how I was going to say handle it, as well.
LRECB.....While I am not sure the exact "AT&T Satellite Plan" you are talking about, I would be willing to bet that there is a snowballs chance that you would run out of bandwidth just scoring the games. During the fall, I would watch live HD NFL games on my DirecTV Sunday Ticket App on the iPad in between baseball games and I never came anywhere close to using up my $25/month plan. One thing that I would suggest, however, if you are a techno-geek like me....in addition to the 3G on the iPad, I also have a Verizon MiFi 2200 Mobile Hot Spot from Verizon ( http://www.verizonwireless.com/2200-mifi-mobile-hotspot.shtml ). This card is basically a WiFi Hot Spot but instead of connecting to a wired internet it uses the Verizon 3G network. While I have never needed it to score games, some of the boys love using it with their iTouch and other WiFi devices during the down times and it is an unlimited plan.
Hope that helps.

Posted - 04/05/2011 : 09:26:43 Strike_2, In the upper right hand corner of the screen, select "Game". Then select "Manual Override" then set the score to 7-0. I then always select "Send Message to Fans" under the same menu and put in "Forefeit" so people know why the game was not detailed out. Also so I remember when I look back and wonder why I did not detail the game out.
That's how I do it anyway. |

Posted - 04/05/2011 : 09:21:19 Cooperstown is WiFi friendly under the big white tent, but that was when we were there 3 years ago. Maybe they have extended it to the entire park. I know we could not get the connection in the barricks. I would have to take my laptop up and sit under the tent. A lot could have changed since, though.
That would be good to have up there.
Hopefully someone that went last year could tell us. |

Posted - 04/05/2011 : 08:17:55 Anyone know if Cooperstown is WiFi friendly so we can run the app from there this summer without burning through our AT&T satellite plan? |

Posted - 04/04/2011 : 22:00:45 We had a middle school team forfeit today. How should I score that in GameChanger? Manually put in a 7-0 box score and end game? |

GREAT....I missed that and it caused a cluster in my scoring. It only happened once in the 3 games we played so far. |

Posted - 03/24/2011 : 09:38:25 For you guys that are on the WEB OS system like the palm pre. There has just been an app released for our systems. We have tried it out and actually worked with the developer through his BETA testing and it is a pretty cool app for us non iphone users. It is called BASEBALL SCOREBOOK. |

Posted - 03/22/2011 : 20:13:11 what is the correct way to score a batter advancing to first on a strikeout (catcher drops ball, pass ball, throwing error etc.) |

Posted - 03/16/2011 : 20:04:05 Stats do not have to stay local on the device for iScore. Been using it for 2 years now. This year we have the team website. At the end of the game, hit export and it automatically loads. Also has iScorecast which allows people not at the game to follow it live as well as Twittercast. Can easily transfer data between devices. Haven't seen gamechanger, but I really like iScore. Our website: http://baseball.iscorecentral.com/GeorgiaGenerals |

Posted - 03/14/2011 : 23:42:27 Scored my first game today. Biggest problems for me were subs and mistakes. Was pleased with the program, it was the operator error that was the problem. |

Posted - 02/10/2011 : 11:49:11 I used it with an ipad last fall. Love it. VERY easy to use. Can create the linuep as each player comes to bat, so you don't necessarily have to have both starting lineups prior to game start (I understand that you can do this in iScore too, but much less intuitive). Still a couple of things that are lacking in my opinion, but they may be there and I just haven't figured it out yet. Most of the shortcomings I see are with having the team stats local to the device. GameChanger uploads stats and you have to log-in online to get them whereas iScore keeps your catalog of stats local on the device. |

Posted - 02/09/2011 : 16:26:23 Greg- Are you pretty familiar with this program? I have a couple questions and would like a users view point rather than the providers. |
