Posted - 11/18/2010 : 23:02:33 Papa feels that he can talk baseball with you guys as good as anybody but I need help outside the baseball world. Our new 32,000 square foot indoor facility is up and running and has been filled to capacity for the last couple of weeks.
I want to become the next sponsor of this site and have you guys log into the facility website. Trouble is I don't have a clue how to get my website built and I need your assistance with someoone to call. You all know Papa so you should know the conditions for this site. It must flashy, It must be bright, It must shed a good light on my teams the Bandits and Cougars, and it must beat the number of hits of the other sponsors by at least one hit.
Seriously, I need assistance and I need it quick because I can't get with Stan and sign up until I have a link for you guys to connect to.
There has been 5 high school teams sign up for overnight retreats and camp as soon as GHSA turns them loose and also several travel teams has booked their sessions for the next 12 weeks. There are several options for teams so don't think that just because you are in Atlanta that you can't come
Facility offer the following:
9 batting tunnels from 55' to 72' long 3 video projector screens with simulated live pitchers for both baseball and softball. 4 T cages 4 pitching mounds. 50 yard football field that can convert to baseball infield up to 90' basepaths. Weights Lounge with TV but just soft drinks please. 5 professional instrutors Right view pro video analysis is on the way and should be ready soon. L screens and ball furnished. Team discounts Full kitchen but no concessions at this time.
Feel free to email me with any questions @ dennislemming@bellsouth.net

Posted - 11/20/2010 : 08:36:10 Not only have the 11U Cannons utilized the facility they have been working for weeks now. Papa has told you guys for years that the secret to success is hard work. These Cannon kids have been a blast for me to watch and believe it or not ole Papa has even helped them with some Coaching, (haven't done that in a while and it was a rush to do it again).
I have seen improvement in this team in just a short period of time and expect that if they keep working the way they have been working then they will a force in Northwest Georgia this year.
Papa recipe for a good team is simple: You take a great of kids, add 2 cups of hard work, 1 cup of good coaching, 1/4 cup of parents that assist in making the cake (but do not use parents that want to bake the whole dang cake.) and the most important ingredient in the youth team is 3 cups of fun. We all want to win, Papa included but if you ever lose sight of the fun then you have begun to go backward. |

Posted - 11/19/2010 : 23:43:39 Cannons Baseball has a team membership and we are loving the workout facility. Papa's place is the best indoor facility we have worked out at and we are looking foward to the rest of our training there. I reccomend this facility to all teams that want a top quality place to train for the cold months ahead. See you guys in the Spring!

Posted - 11/19/2010 : 11:46:34 Papa....I happen to own a Web Hosting Company that specializes in much larger infrastructure than you are talking about but I get asked this question all the time and I do have an easy, yet effective, answer for you. Start asking anyone around the baseball fields that is about 18-21 who their one creative graphic artist friend is and talk to that person. I can name you hundreds of small businesses that I have convinced to find a 20 year old aspiring graphic artist and let him/her build it for you. They will work harder and cheaper than even the largest design shops in Atlanta. They are usually either in college or heading to college to get a degree in this world and are looking for something that they can add to their portfolio anyway....plus they are usually just looking for beer money.
If that doesn't work my next suggestion is talk to your nearby colleges (especially like the Art Institute and places like that) and see if they can hook you up with a freelance designer who is trying to graduate and also needs to build the portfolio.
Hope this helps!!!

Posted - 11/19/2010 : 10:57:19 Papa, there are a number of similar facilities that are currently NWBA sponsors, including Stan's place (Cherokee Batting). You may want to reach out to those guys to find out who they use for website hosting and support. |
