Congrats to the SF Giants. Does this prove once again that great pitching shuts down great hitting most of the time ?? |

I believe the catchers call the pitches and pitchers can shake the sign off if they feel more confident in a particuler pitch. |

2-0 count, two outs, runners on second and third. 0-0 game in seventh inning. I looked at my father in law and said, "if I'm calling pitches, no way this batter sees another strike in this at bat. Need to see if you can get him to swing at a marginal pitch or move on to the next batter and take your chances with a fresh count..."
Next pitch, fastball down the middle, 3 run home run.
Wonder if the pitch was a mistake or if the pitcher was told to throw a strike.
On another front, do coaches call pitches in the majors, or do the catchers decide what to throw.... |

Yep. I also think it proves that it helps to win the all-star game and get home field advantage in the WS. I believe being at home the first two games helps. |
